A job I'm currently working on requires a web application to initiate file processors & then simply observe progress (I needed to not hang up the app while the jobs were running because many of the files are quite large).
I've been wading through some very frustrating examples about how to use SQL Server Service Agent to create a server-side job queue. I dont know why folks have to make things so complicated. Here is a new step-by-step guide on how to make this happen.
